The Jewel City Jazz Orchestra is a nonprofit, community-driven jazz ensemble rooted in Huntington-Charleston, West Virginia. Founded in 2018 to foster jazz education and performance, the group blends the swagger of Count Basie-era big-band standards with contemporary arrangements from modern ensembles like the Roy Hargrove Big Band. Since their debut on February 11, 2019, at Black Sheep Burrito and Brews in Huntington, JCJO has become a staple on the region’s live music scene, bringing energetic performances to festival stages, concert series, and intimate venues alike.
