The Josh Joplin Group (JJG) emerged from Atlanta's vibrant music scene in the mid-1990s as the Josh Joplin Band. With early albums like Projector Head (1996) and Boxing Nostalgic (1997), the project evolved into the Josh Joplin Group, a name that would carry forward into a series of critically acclaimed releases. JJG is known for its intimate, storytelling-driven indie folk sound, fueled by Josh Joplin's distinctive vocal delivery and thoughtful lyricism. Their breakthrough came with the single Camera One, which topped the Triple-A airplay chart as an independent release and later gained national attention, including placement on television showcases like Scrubs. Artemis Records helped propel the band into the national spotlight, laying a foundation for a continued creative arc.
