Biography
- Born 1981 in Helsinki, Finland. Pohjonen has established an international profile as a recitalist, orchestral soloist, and chamber musician.
- Founder of the Sibelius Piano Trio, contributing to Finland’s chamber music landscape. Their Sibelius Piano Trio recording appears on Yarlung Records (2016).
- Prize-winning artist with honors including the 2009 Klavier Festival Ruhr Scholarship (selected by András Schiff) and wins at the Maj Lind, AXA Dublin, and Nordic Piano competitions.
- Extensive performance history with major institutions and venues, including CMS Lincoln Center, LA Philharmonic, and SF Symphony. Active in contemporary releases and historical repertoire alike.
- Recent and forthcoming recordings feature Poème Mystique (Avie, 2025), Visionaries of the Keyboard (Orchid Classics, 2024), Poltéra Plays Prokofiev (BIS, 2024), Rooms of Elsinore (BIS, 2024), The Dvořák Album (Sony Classical, 2022), and earlier titles such as Plateaux (Dacapo, 2009).
