Keiko Matsui is a renowned Japanese pianist and composer whose luminous blend of jazz, soul, and world influences has captivated audiences worldwide. Rising from the 1980s with Cosmos, she launched a solo career with A Drop of Water in 1987, released on Passport Records. Her music charted a landmark achievement when Deep Blue topped Billboard's Contemporary Jazz Albums for three weeks in 2001, making her the first Japanese artist to reach No. 1 on that chart. Over the decades, Matsui has released albums across major labels—including MCA, White Cat, Countdown, Narada, and Shanachie—culminating in the 2023 release Euphoria.
