Kim McLean’s roots run deep in gospel and folk traditions. Her career includes a Dove Award-winning moment when Count Your Blessing was named Gospel Song of the Year in 1999, a track recorded by The Martins that connected with listeners through its heartfelt message. Beyond performance, Kim is a prolific songwriter; she co-wrote Forever Everyday for Lee Ann Womack, a song that climbed to #37 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart in 2002, illustrating her reach across genres.
As the founder of Hippie Chick Twang Records / Hippie Chick Twang Music, Kim has released several solo projects that showcase her lyrical craft and warm vocal tone. Her most recent solo album, A Song & A Prayer, arrived in 2023, followed by earlier works like Rapunzel's Escape (2009) and multiple 2006 releases including The Songwriter Gospels, God's Lyrics, Come to the Fire, and Happy Face.
