King Buffalo is a three-piece heavy psychedelic rock band hailing from Rochester, New York. Formed in 2013, the group features Sean McVay (vocals/guitar), Dan Reynolds (bass/synth), and Scott Donaldson (drums). Known for hypnotic riffs, expansive grooves, and a spacey atmosphere, they fuse elements of stoner rock with sprawling psych layers. The band self-describes as a 'heavy psych' outfit, delivering immersive live shows and thoughtful studio work.

The musical character
Whether you're a longtime follower or new to the genre, King Buffalo's catalog offers a deep, cosmic listening experience—from hypnotic openings to soaring crescendoes. The group's profile is shaped by critical recognition and a steady touring presence. King Buffalo has earned album-of-the-month praise for Acheron from Eclipsed Magazine and strong notes for Regenerator, which also gained Doom Charts recognition. Their records have seen broad release, with Regenerator issued as a NA self-release and EU release via Stickman Records; other titles are self-released. In 2025, they embarked on a Europe-wide tour (June–August) and planned a North American leg with All Them Witches in December, reflecting their growing international footprint. Stay tuned for new material and on-tour updates as they continue to push the boundaries of heavy psych.
