King Ropes is a Montana-born indie project that crafts lo-fi Americana with a psychedelic garage rock edge and broad Western landscapes in focus. Since 2017, the project has released six full-length albums, each recorded with an open, live-in-studio approach that captures the spirit of the American West. The latest, Idaho (2024), centers on The Spirit of The West and features tracks like Idaho, Two Shoes, Radio Jane, Live Like an Animal, and Broken Cup. Influences include Modest Mouse and Built to Spill, but King Ropes maintains a distinctive voice rooted in Montana’s rugged scenery and open skies.
