Kristen Zelenak Tickets

Kristen Zelenak is a dynamic saxophonist, conductor, and educator known for her engaging performances and commitment to building the next generation of wind and brass players. She serves as Visiting Instructor and Interim Director of Bands at the University of North Florida (UNF), where she conducts the UNF Wind Symphony and leads the popular 'Sound of the Sky' Pep Band. Zelenak is also a versatile performer with ZelenArch, a saxophone-piano duo, touring nationally through recitals, masterclasses, and educational clinics.

Beyond her UNF duties, Kristen collaborates with contemporary composers and ensembles, bringing new works to audiences and fostering composer-performer dialogue. Her ongoing projects include leading a wind-band consortium with Annie Booth for a new work for wind ensemble, slated for delivery in September 2025, and recording projects tied to her debut saxophone album Taking Flight, featuring works by Annie Booth, Ayn Inserto, Katelyn Vincent, Aida De Moya, Yoko Suzuki, and Sam Spear.

Kristen’s career spans performing with leading collegiate ensembles such as the Seyon Saxophone Quartet (Arizona State University, 2019) and the Auteur Saxophone Quartet (Michigan State University, mid-2010s), with multiple recognitions in Coltman competitions. She has taught saxophone at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach and remains active as a clinician and conductor across the United States.

Upcoming public performances at the University of North Florida include the UNF Wind Symphony & Concert Band Concerts on October 9, 2025, at the Andrew A. Robinson Jr Theater, and November 18, 2025, at UNF venues. Looking ahead, Kristen will be featured as a clinician and conductor at the 2026 UNF Wind Band Workshop.
