Kyung-Wha Chung is one of the most respected violinists of her generation, known for her expressive tone, refined technique, and long-standing collaborations in chamber music. Born in Seoul on March 26, 1948, her career took off after winning the Edgar Leventritt Competition in 1967, a pivotal moment that launched international recognition alongside Pinchas Zukerman. She has since balanced performance with teaching, serving on the Juilliard School faculty since 2007 and shaping new generations of musicians through performance and mentorship.
