Laszlo Fassang (born December 12, 1973, in Budapest) is a renowned Hungarian organist, improviser, and cross-genre performer known for his innovative formats such as Organ Battles and collaboration across jazz and folk idioms. A graduate of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and the Conservatoire de Paris, Fassang has built a career that blends classical organ mastery with improvisation and contemporary collaboration. He has served as artistic director of the organ concerts at the Palace of Arts in Budapest since 2006 and as a professor at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music since 2008. Fassang has also held a residency as organist in Sapporo, Japan. His work is marked by depth of technique, fearless improvisation, and a commitment to expanding the organ repertoire through cross-genre projects.
