Le Nozze De Figaro is one of Mozart’s most beloved operas, a sparkling example of the opera buffa tradition that blends sharp social wit with humanity and warmth. Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756–1791) to a libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte in Italian, this four-act masterpiece is known for its masterful ensemble writing, memorable arias, and deft satire of social hierarchies. The piece premiered at the Burgtheater in Vienna on May 1, 1786 and has since grown into a centerpiece of opera repertoire worldwide.
