Les Ballets Trockadero De Monte Carlo (often shortened to Trockadero) was founded in 1974 in New York City by Peter Anastos, Anthony Bassae, and Natch Taylor. The company’s mission is to celebrate ballet by pairing classical discipline with satire, performing all roles by male dancers in drag while maintaining rigorous technique. Over the decades, Trockadero has become a pioneering force in contemporary ballet, blending humor with high artistry to engage new audiences while honoring traditional repertoire.
