Maine State Ballet is a venerable Maine-based performing arts organization rooted in a 1920s-era arts school and a 1986-borne ballet company. Since merging into a single nonprofit in 2006, the company has grown into a reliable regional powerhouse, presenting 30+ performances each year to more than 15,000 attendees. Under new Artistic Director Janet Davis, appointed in 2025, the company continues its tradition of accessible, artistically rigorous ballet for diverse audiences.
