Maria and the Mexican hails from the Midwest roots of Topeka and Kansas City, where a family legacy in mariachi fuels a distinctive sound. As the granddaughters of Teresa Cuevas, founder of Mariachi Estrella, they fuse Mexicana folklore with roots rock, blues, funk, and soul.
