Meet Matthew Culloton, a visionary choral conductor and the founding Artistic Director of The Singers – Minnesota Choral Artists. Since launching The Singers in 2004, Culloton has been at the helm of a flexible, high‑quality choral sound that has earned critical acclaim and a growing national profile. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Conducting and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Concordia College, Moorhead. Culloton’s leadership has seen The Singers premiere over 100 new works and perform at major venues, including Ravinia Festival and Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis, in collaboration with ensemble partners such as SPCO. He was recognized early in his career as the MN ACDA Outstanding Young Choral Conductor of the Year (2004).
