Formation & origins: The trio formed in Chicago in 2014, drawing from the bustling local scene. Members Nick Mazzarella (saxophone), Matt Ulery (bass), and Jeremy Cunningham (drums) united to explore spacious arrangements and intricate group interplay. Their debut album, Triangulum, arrived in 2017 on Clean Feed Records after a live recording at The Whistler in 2016. The Andromeda EP followed in 2017, recorded during residency sessions at The Whistler in January 2016 on Whistler Records. Critics note their deeply integrated improvisation and high-level compositional craft.
