A 501(c)(3) youth boxing organization, Michigan Golden Gloves (MGG) runs a competitive pathway from statewide tournaments to the national stage. Michigan began its state tournament in 1931, continuing a storied tradition that includes iconic names like Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Buster Mathis Jr. The state championship feeds champions to the National Golden Gloves, propelling athletes toward national stages and bright futures in the sport.

Important: For 2025, Detroit hosts the Metro Detroit Golden Gloves Tournament Of Champions at Bert's Warehouse on April 26–27 and May 3–4, starting at 2:00 PM each day. The national stage follows in Tulsa, OK, May 12–18, 2025. Michigan’s 2026 state tournament dates have been announced for April 10–11, 2026.
