Founded in 1962 from the merger of Midland and Odessa orchestral groups and chartered as the Midland-Odessa Symphony & Chorale (MOSC) in 1969, the organization is today known as the West Texas Symphony. As one of West Texas’ largest professional performing-arts organizations, they present a diverse mix of Masterworks and Pops concerts, often featuring resident ensembles and a thriving choir. Their home base for performances is the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center, a cornerstone venue in the Midland–Odessa region.
