Meet Miggy Augmented Orchestra, the swinging, exuberant modernism led by Migiwa 'Miggy' Miyajima. A Japanese-born, NYC-based composer/pianist and former Vanguard Jazz Orchestra associate/producer, Miggy crafts original, narrative jazz that blends expressive storytelling with exuberant textures. The ensemble delivers a distinctive balance of sophistication and warmth, with performances that feel both intimate and expansive.

Discography highlights include the debut album Colorful (2018, ArtistShare) and the conceptual Your Future Story (2021), a book with accompanying music. In 2024, Miggy released KYMN’s Tokyo, NY, Jazz and Pop (Bandcamp), a four-piece project featuring members from KYMN. In 2025, Miggy Augmented Orchestra unveiled the Unbreakable Hope and Resilience Suite, with a world-class performance at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola on March 17, 2025, and a BMI Jazz Composers Workshop showcase in NYC on June 20, 2025. Looking ahead, a 2026 release of Unbreakable Hope and Resilience is planned as a new big-band album.
