The Mississippi Sea Wolves’ journey begins in 1996 as an original ECHL franchise, capturing the 1999 Kelly Cup and establishing a legacy in the Gulf Coast region. After Hurricane Katrina caused a long hiatus and arena damage in 2005, the team resumed play in 2007–2009 before re-emerging in 2022 in the Federal Prospects Hockey League as the Mississippi Sea Wolves. In June 2025, the brand was rebranded to the Biloxi Breakers under new ownership. For 2025–26, the home schedule features games at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, with the opening night set for November 18, 2025 against the Columbus River Dragons.
