About the performer: Dr. Larry Lipkis serves as Moravian University’s Professor of Music and Composer-in-Residence. His music has earned prominent performances including the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Harlequin bass trombone concerto (1997) and the Houston Symphony’s Pierrot bassoon concerto (2002). Lipkis is also a longtime member of The Baltimore Consort, contributing to Moravian’s celebrated Early Music program and its 50th anniversary and ongoing ensemble activities. His work as a composer-performer spans opera, chamber pieces, and vocal collaborations that bridge traditional and contemporary styles.
