The Moscow Soloists are a storied chamber ensemble known for their expressive range from Baroque brilliance to contemporary premieres. Founded by the legendary violist Yuri Bashmet, the group has a history of reformation in Moscow after a French tour, with origins debated but widely cited as 1986 and a reconstitution in 1992. The ensemble has earned a Grammy for Best Small Ensemble Performance (Stravinsky/Prokofiev, Onyx, 2008) and has been nominated across multiple decades for its compelling recordings and live performances.
