Mykele Deville stands out as a poet-rapper from Chicago’s West Side, known for shaping the DIY scene through intimate storytelling, jazz-rap textures, and Afrofuturist touches. A co-founder of multi-arts spaces like The Dojo, he has prepared a path for artists to experiment and perform across the city. He has served as lead poet-in-residence at Foundations of Music and as a teaching artist in Chicago schools, a role highlighted by Chicago Sun-Times and WBEZ.
