National Black Arts Festival (NBAF) is a cornerstone of Atlanta’s cultural landscape. Founded in 1987 by the Fulton County Arts Council, NBAF launched its inaugural festival in 1988 and has since grown into a city-wide, multidisciplinary arts institution. Recognized by the U.S. Congress in 2008 for its vital role in shaping the cultural fabric of Atlanta and the nation, NBAF presents programs across music, dance, film, theatre, visual and literary arts.
