New York Hot Jazz Camp (NYHJC) is a nonprofit performer-educator collaboration co-founded by Bria Skonberg and Molly Ryan. Since its inception in 2015, NYHJC has combined hands-on instruction with performance, creating a vibrant community around traditional jazz, hot jazz, and swing from the 1920s and 1930s. The organization achieved 501(c)3 status by 2020, underscoring its commitment to accessible, high-quality jazz education and performance.

Based in New York City, NYHJC operates from Greenwich House Music School at 46 Barrow Street in the West Village, offering a week-long intensive program that welcomes up to 48 participants (6 per instrument) and culminates in a final concert. The essentials
New York Hot Jazz Camp was established to honor the improvisational spirit and repertoire of early jazz while providing world-class instruction from respected performers and educators. Co-directors Bria Skonberg and Molly Ryan lead a program that blends performance-focused study with hands-on learning. Skonberg, an acclaimed trumpeter and vocalist, and Ryan, a versatile educator and performer, guide participants through the technical and stylistic demands of hot jazz, swing, and classic 1920s–30s material.
