Night of 100 Solos is a distinguished performer collective celebrated for its immersive interpretation of Merce Cunningham’s vast solo repertoire. Honoring Cunningham’s 100th birthday in 2019, the project brought together 25 dancers at each of three iconic venues—Barbican (London), Brooklyn Academy of Music (New York), and UCLA CAP UCLA (Los Angeles). Each program presented a distinct anthology of 100 solos spanning five decades, with live coordination by John King and set design by Jennifer Steinkamp. The initiative, produced by the Merce Cunningham Trust, streamed worldwide for a limited period, showcasing a modern take on Cunningham’s groundbreaking modern dance legacy.
