About Night Teacher
Night Teacher is the brainchild of Lilly Bechtel, a Charlottesville-based musician and trauma-informed educator who crafts songs that are patient, radiant, and intensely personal. The project’s sound sits at the crossroads of indie doom-folk and alternative pop-rock, with spacious guitars, organic percussion, and lyrical depth that has drawn comparisons to Thom Yorke and Cate Le Bon. Bechtel’s background in education informs a practice that honors listening, healing, and connection with audiences.
