Nokuthula Ngwenyama is a renowned violist and composer whose career blends bold concert performances with nuanced studio work. A prize-winner at the Primrose International Viola Competition (1993) and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions (1994), she is widely described as a bold, expressive performer by major outlets such as Gramophone and The Washington Post. Ngwenyama has earned an Avery Fisher Career Grant and serves as a contemporary voice in classical and crossover repertoire. She is the first composer-in-residence for the Phoenix Chamber Music Society and a founder/leader of Peace Mama Productions, guiding innovative programming and creative collaborations.
