North State Symphony Pops (NSS Pops) delivers accessible, engaging orchestral experiences rooted in the Northern California community. Formed in 2001 from the merger of the Chico and Redding Symphonies, NSS operates as a program of Chico State Enterprises at CSU Chico. Under the baton of Music Director/Conductor Scott Seaton since the 2015–16 season, NSS Pops emphasizes a lively repertoire that blends classical favorites with modern, film-score concert experiences and tributes. The 25th anniversary season for 2025–2026 features invigorating programs including Mendelssohn’s Scottish, Frankenstein, Billy the Kid, and Brilliant Bartók, performed across iconic venues like Red Bluff’s State Theatre, Cascade Theatre in Redding, and Chico’s Laxson Auditorium.
