The essentials
Northeastern Huskies basketball competes in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA). With nine NCAA tournament appearances (1981, 1982, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1991, 2015, 2019), the program has a storied history of breakthrough seasons and competitive showings in postseason play. Led by head coach Bill Coen in his 20th season (as of 2025-26), the Huskies combine disciplined defense, efficient offense, and a strong local and regional following. The team recruits heavily from New England and beyond, building a roster that reflects the competitive spirit of Northeastern University and the city of Boston.
