Omar Santana, born October 25, 1967 in Queens, New York, is a pivotal figure in American electronic music known for forging a distinctive acid breakbeat techno sound and the hardcore hardhop style. With aliases including Liquid Metal, New York Terrorist, Dark Side of the Shroom, and Hard Hop Heathen, Santana helped shape West Coast rave culture in the 1990s and beyond. He is the founder of H2OH Recordings and Tricked Out Recordings, helping to map the evolution of underground bass music from early breakbeat experiments to modern bass-forward productions.
