On The Eve of Abolition is a trailblazing bilingual multimedia puppet-theater piece created by Papel Machete in collaboration with AgitArte. Set in 2047 on the last day of the last prison in transnational liberated lands of southern North America, the production blends live performance, visual art, and performance storytelling to explore themes of justice, memory, and resistance. This touring project aims to secure the best available price for 2025–2026, enabling U.S. mainland and Puerto Rico performances and outreach. The show has drawn support from major funders and maintains an active artist community and newsletter updates.

Past engagements include the Emerson Paramount Center in Boston and Teatro Victoria Espinosa in Santurce, Puerto Rico.
