Opera In Concert (OIC) is a storied Canadian opera company known for ambitious programming, world premieres, and groundbreaking Canadian premieres. Founded on 21 October 1974 by Stuart Hamilton, the company debuted with Ambroise Thomas’ Hamlet at the St. Lawrence Centre’s Jane Mallett Theatre. Since 1994, Guillermo Silva-Marin has served as General Director, guiding innovative programming and championing Canadian talent. OIC released three acclaimed Naxos recordings – Castor et Pollux (2003), Rinaldo (2004), and La Griselda (2006) – highlighting its commitment to bringing opera to a broad audience. The 2025–2026 season moves main productions to Jeanne Lamon Hall, Trinity-St. Paul’s Centre in Toronto, with salon performances also staged in Toronto venues. This season features Richard Coeur-de-Lion on Nov 15, 2025, La Sonnambula on Feb 14, 2026, and Lost in the Stars on Mar 21, 2026, with Salon events on Jan 31, 2026 and Feb 28, 2026.
