Known for fully staged operas with live orchestras and robust education programs, OLV partners with the Las Vegas Philharmonic and Las Vegas Master Singers to bring high-quality performances and outreach to audiences of all ages. OLV’s work extends beyond the stage through its Youth Chorus and extensive touring. The organization has earned recognition with multiple NEA grants (Living Composers and Librettists Initiative) from 2020–2023 and a Circuit Rider Grant from the Nevada Arts Council in 2017, underscoring a commitment to both creation and community engagement.

In 2023, Behold the Man, a world premiere by Opera Las Vegas, garnered national and international coverage from CNN, The Guardian, and The Wall Street Journal, highlighting the company’s role as a catalyst for contemporary opera. The 2024–25 season is a “Season of Smiles,” featuring major productions such as Barber of Seville, Viva Verdi!, Pinocchio (citywide tour), and HMS Pinafore, with notable engagements at CSN Horn Theatre, The Smith Center, and Judy Bayley Theatre. In May 2025, Cecilia Violetta López was named General Director and CEO, signaling a new era for OLV as it broadens its artistic reach while maintaining its community-first ethos.
