Orchestra Lumos is the reimagined late-2020s flagship of Fairfield County’s classical scene. Formerly known as the Stamford Symphony, the ensemble rebranded in May 2022 to broaden its reach across the region. Under the baton of Music Director Michael Stern, the orchestra delivers a vibrant mix of classic masterworks, contemporary commissions, and collaborations with some of the world’s leading artists. The organization is guided by leadership changes announced for January 1, 2026, with Walker Beard succeeding Russell Jones as Chief Executive Officer, signaling a continued commitment to accessible, high-quality live music.

Headquartered at the Palace Theatre in Stamford, Orchestra Lumos expanded its 2025–26 season to include the Quick Center at Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT, reflecting its mission to bring exceptional orchestral experiences to a broader audience in the region. The 2025–26 season centers on America’s 250th birthday, featuring American repertoire, new commissions, and appearances by guest artists of national renown.
