The Orion String Quartet formed in 1987, emerging as a cornerstone of American chamber music. Over nearly four decades, the ensemble brought together four core artists—Daniel Phillips (violin), Todd Phillips (violin), Steven Tenenbom (viola), and Timothy Eddy (cello)—for performances that resonated in concert halls across the United States and beyond. Their long-standing associations with Mannes and Lincoln Center’s Conservatory and CMS programs positioned them at the heart of serious music education and high-level performance.
