Pandit Anindo Chatterjee, born May 30, 1954 in Kashimpur, West Bengal, is a renowned tabla soloist and educator associated with the Farrukhabad gharana. Trained by Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh, he has built a global career blending traditional tabla artistry with contemporary expression. A recipient of the President’s Award (1970) and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (2002), Anindo has contributed to festivals, concerts, and academic settings around the world. Notably, he was the first tabla player to perform in the UK Parliament and has performed at Rashtrapati Bhavan during President Obama’s 2010 India visit. He has maintained a lasting presence at major festivals such as Dover Lane and Darbar Festival, teaching and inspiring new generations of percussionists.
