Pierre Marcotte (November 25, 1938 – July 13, 2022) was a notable Quebec entertainer known for his warmth, humor, and presence on television. Born in Joliette, Quebec, he became widely recognized as a co-host of the variety program Les Tannants on Télé-Métropole during the 1970s. Beyond television, Marcotte pursued entrepreneurship, managing the Hélène-de-Champlain restaurant on Île Sainte-Hélène and owning La Boucherie in Old Montreal. After a long career in front of the camera and behind the scenes, he returned to the stage in 2016 for a tour alongside Shirley Théroux and Joël Denis, reuniting the spirit of Les Tannants with live audiences. While there are no confirmed 2025 tour dates and his passing in 2022 ended public touring plans, his legacy continues to inspire fans across Quebec and beyond.
