People behind the production
Pop Up Chorus is an innovative, inclusive performer collective founded in 2014 by Lauren Bromley Hodge. This ad hoc chorus welcomes participants for each event with no auditions or weekly commitments, making singing accessible to everyone. Each show teaches two songs, followed by a dress rehearsal and a final filmed performance. The group has earned praise from artists and musicians such as David Bowie, Zooey Deschanel, Duran Duran, They Might Be Giants, and Sufjan Stevens, with videos that regularly rack up thousands of views on YouTube. Pop Up Chorus continues to expand its reach with a dynamic 2025 season across the Triangle, featuring multiple venues and a companion spin-off, PopUp Broadway, focused on Broadway favorites.
