The Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix (RBIGP) is a landmark name in motorcycle racing history at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). From 2008–2015, RBIGP represented MotoGP at the iconic Brickyard, showcased on the IMS road course, a 2.591-mile (4.170 km) track with 16 turns. In 2013 the layout was redesigned, paving the way for dramatic, high-speed battles that earned RBIGP the title of MotoGP’s Best Grand Prix in 2014, awarded by Dorna/MotoGP. After 2015, the event paused on the MotoGP calendar, with the race not appearing in 2016. The series returned in 2020 as MotoAmerica’s Superbikes at the Brickyard, rescheduled to October 9–11 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. IMS remains a hub for major motorsports, with upcoming events in 2025 including the Sonsio Grand Prix (IndyCar) and the Indianapolis 8 Hour, while the track continues to welcome fans from around the world.
