Richard Butler has been a defining voice in post-punk, new wave, and alternative rock since the late 1970s. As the frontman of The Psychedelic Furs since 1977, Butler helped shape a sound that blends sardonic lyricism with atmospheric guitars. He later formed Love Spit Love (1992–2000) and released a self-titled solo album in 2006. Known for his distinctive wit and magnetic stage presence, Butler continues to influence artists across generations.
