Rising Excellence Tickets

Rising Excellence is a collaborative dance performance program produced by Dallas Black Dance Theatre (DBDT) and its professional training company, DBDT: Encore!. Guided by Artistic Director Nycole Ray, the program highlights the company’s dynamic repertoire while introducing world premieres that push the boundaries of contemporary dance. This season marks a milestone with the 25th anniversary celebration featuring new works such as Mama's Chair by Cameron Jade Harris and Church of Nations by Kevin Iega Jeff, alongside signature pieces from DBDT’s acclaimed repertoire.

DBDT is the oldest continuously operating professional dance company in Dallas and has brought its hallmark blend of artistry and technique to stages nationwide, including the Kennedy Center and Jacob’s Pillow. Rising Excellence offers audiences a rich experience of motion, storytelling, and collaboration, rooted in Dallas’s vibrant arts scene and the broader cultural landscape of Texas.

Upcoming in-person performances are scheduled at Moody Performance Hall in Dallas on April 25–26, 2025, with a streaming option available April 26–28. In 2026, look for additional in-person dates at Moody Performance Hall on April 17–18. Secure your seats early to witness world premieres and treasured works like The Art of Waiting, Chaos, Unsettled Thoughts, Phoenix, and Tidal Intersections performed by DBDT: Encore! and the main company.
