Roger Wilkie is a renowned violinist whose career blends orchestral leadership, chamber music excellence, and contributions to major film scores. Serving as the Long Beach Symphony Concertmaster for more than 27 years, he is a frequent soloist in the orchestra’s concerts, delivering performances of Brahms, Mendelssohn, Bruch, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, and Sibelius with assured artistry. As a founding member of the Angeles String Quartet, Wilkie helped drive the ensemble to Grammy recognition for Best Chamber Music Performance (Haydn: The Complete String Quartets, 2001). His influence extends to the silver screen, where he contributed to landmark film scores, including Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Indiana Jones IV, Munich, Memoirs of a Geisha, and solo work on A Single Man and The Adventures of Tintin. His discography features prominent roles on The Magnificent Seven: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (2016) as concertmaster and Elisa’s Diari aperti (2018) with a 2019 reissue Diari aperti (Segreti svelati). In 2025, Wilkie returns as Concertmaster for multiple major performances in Long Beach, continuing to connect classical excellence with cinematic storytelling.
