Rossano Sportiello is an Italian-born pianist whose journey from classical training to commanding a mainstream traditional jazz voice has made him a respected figure in modern jazz. Based in New York since 2007, he studied classical piano before apprenticing with mentor Barry Harris, embracing Harlem stride, bebop, and contemporary jazz influences. Renowned for a strong classical technique blended with lyricism and sophisticated harmony, Sportiello has shared stages with leading players and performed at iconic venues such as Carnegie Hall, Blue Note, and Lincoln Center. He is a core member of the Three Wise Men trio and maintains an active schedule of festival appearances and solo performances across the world.
