The RSMI Piano & Strings Concert represents Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute, a premier fellowship program founded in 1988 to train the next generation of pianists and string players. Each summer, approximately 30 fellows collaborate in intimate chamber music settings, delivering performances across Ravinia grounds and partner venues. All Steans events are staged in Bennett Gordon Hall and are frequently livestreamed for a global audience.

Under the 2025 Artistic Direction of Midori for the Piano & Strings track, the program runs June 21–July 25, 2025, featuring a dynamic lineup of concerts, master classes, and ensemble explorations that highlight emerging talents and the art of chamber music. RSMI alumni go on to high-profile careers, earning Grammy nominations and joining prominent ensembles such as the Dover Quartet. Ravinia On Tour further showcases Steans alumni in spring 2025, including appearances at National Sawdust in Brooklyn.
