Rush's debut album, 'Rush,' was recorded in 1974 with original drummer John Rutsey performing all drum parts. The band recorded their debut album at Eastern Sound in Toronto and later moved to Toronto Sound Studios to improve the sound quality. Rush's debut album was produced by Dave Stock and recorded late at night due to cheaper studio rates. [8]
Rush's sound includes a mix of progressive rock elements, crunchy riffs, gleaming New Wave grooves, and orchestral-rock ballads. The band's discography spans 19 studio albums, showcasing a variety of musical styles and themes. Rush's music has been described as pioneering in the prog-rock genre, with complex compositions and intricate musicianship. [9] [10]
