Meet S. James Gates, a distinguished theoretical physicist and educator whose work spans supersymmetry, superspace, supergravity, and a passion for science literacy. Born December 15, 1950, Gates has held prominent roles including Ford Foundation Professor of Physics and John S. Toll Professor of Physics at the University of Maryland, with affiliations to Brown University.
