Under the long-standing direction of Michael Neumann (since 1979), SYS has evolved from a single ensemble into multiple dedicated groups, including Premier, Academic, Classic, Vivace, and Prelude Strings. SYS has earned national and international recognition, including a 1995 first-place award at the Vienna International Youth and Music Festival and the City of Vienna Award.
