Salt River Brass is a 36‑member volunteer brass and percussion ensemble based in the Phoenix area, known for delivering military‑band energy, lush symphonic textures, and intimate chamber moments. Founded in January 1988 by musicians with a shared passion for quality brass music, the group made its first major splash at the Chandler Center for the Arts during the venue’s grand opening. Over the decades, Salt River Brass has earned honors in North American Brass Band Association competitions and expanded its reach through recordings like The Great American Songbook with trombonist Harry Watters. Today, under the leadership of Music Directors Ralph Pearce, Patrick Sheridan, and Julie Desbordes (appointed June 2022), the ensemble continues to captivate audiences with bold concert programs and community engagement.
