Formed in 2013 by Josh Montag (drums) and Jake Johnston (bass), the group grew into a rotating lineup featuring guest vocalists and a broad array of musicians. Known for horn-driven arrangements and cross-genre collaborations, Scattered Melodies blends soulful alt, reggae, funk, and fusion to create a groove-forward sound that’s both adventurous and inviting.

One of their most notable milestones is the collaborative album Modern Repair (2015), a multi-artist project that brought together roughly 30 Valley musicians and guest vocalists. This record embodies the band’s community ethos and willingness to weave different voices into a single, cohesive sonic tapestry.

Across a career spanning 2013–2022, the project released nine records, including A Collective Agreement (2013), Summer Sampler (2014), Modern Repair (2015), You Bad (2017), Patterns (2018), Black Hole (dub version) (2020), Vibe Check (2021), Summer Daze (live) (2021), and Neighborhood (acoustic) (2022).
